Geek Village Announces 6 Week Youth Skills Training in Computer Repair & Web Design

Geek Village Training at Fides Education

Geek Village in collaboration with Fides Education Services and the ICT Teachers’ Association of Uganda has announced a 6-week training for youth in key employable ICT skills.

The training scheduled to start in May will run for 6 weeks and will be held at Fides Education Services at Nsambya Youth Sharing Center. Students will choose one of the two courses, either a Certificate in Computer Repair or a Certificate in Web Design

Certificate in Computer Repair

The Certificate in Computer Repair is a fully practical course that will take students through the process of installing and updating operating systems, installing software, fighting antiviruses and malware, assembling PCs and laptops, repairing power supplies, replacing screens and basic business ethics.

The course is conducted by experienced technicians from Geek Village who have over a decade of experience in repairing computers and setting up networks in offices, computer labs and institutions of learning.

Certificate in Web Design

Students opting for the Certificate in Web Design will learn how to build modern websites using the latest technologies. Students will learn how to build school, church, NGO abd business websites.

The students will learn how to buy domains, work with web hosts, build and upload websites. By the end of the course, each student will have a live website to showcase their skill.
